Course Overview:

This course covers water-based and oil-based drilling-fluids chemistry, formulation, testing procedures, and drilling fluids engineering. Clay chemistry, rheology, system maintenance (including weight and solids control), contaminants and contaminant removal techniques, mud hydraulics, and special drilling problems related to drilling fluids are also covered.
